Miceli Arts Foundation, Inc is proud to present the acclaimed international artist, Stefano Miceli, famous pianist and conductor and Wonjin Choi, stirring lyric tenor.
An intellectual journey through music, featuring a voice and piano duet, designed to evoke the beauty of the "Opera Arias from the Greatest Era" and to showcase the voice in its full potency and passion. Italian, French, German opera composers selected for this elegant duet include Verdi, Puccini, and Donizetti. Wonjin Choi and Maestro Miceli will perform exquisite arias and masterpieces from the operatic repertoire of the 1800s and 1900s in a remarkable Voice and Piano Duet format.
Throughout this enchanting musical evening, Stefano Miceli will engage with the audience, sharing creative and emotional insights into the repertoire while inviting interaction to enhance the understanding of the thematic undertones of the operatic works.
WONCHIN CHOI, Tenor
Gifted young artist Wonjin Choi, is a dynamic young artist who is quickly establishing himself as a tenor to watch. Hailing from Korea and currently based in New York City, his recent international debut, singing Rodolfo in Puccini’s La Bohème with KimSun International Opera Company, was celebrated as a success and will sing the role of Prince in Dvořák’s Rusalka and Roméo in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette in Manhattan School of Music Opera’s 2024-25 season. Mr. Choi has been a prizewinner in numerous competitions, including the Korea National Opera Vocal competition (bronze medal) and the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Tulsa District competition, in which he won first prize. He won the Edward Baird Singer of the Year award in the TEXOMA NATS, was a finalist in the McCammon vocal competition, and was selected as a grant winner by Career Bridge. Mr. Choi recently completed Fort Worth Opera’s Hattie Mae Lesley resident artist program, and he holds a diploma from the Riccardo Muti Academy. Previously, he received his Bachelors degree from Korea’s National University of the Arts and his Masters degree from Texas Christian University, where he was the recipient of a full scholarship. He is currently a student in the Manhattan School of Music’s Professional Performance Diploma program, where he receives a full scholarship.
STEFANO MICELI, Piano
Maestro Miceli is one of the foremost italian conductors and pianists around the world. He has earned the applause of audiences at Berliner Philharmonie, Sydney Opera House, Leipzig Gewandhaus, La Fenice Opera in Venice, Beijing Forbidden City Concert Hall, and Carnegie Hall.
Maestro Miceli has been the Principal Guest Conductor at the Leipzig Philharmonic and at Cameristi della Fenice in Venice, and the Music Director of the Orchestra Sinfonica Italiana. Former Chairman of the Nuovo Teatro Verdi Foundation and founder and Music Director of the Nuovo Teatro Verdi Philharmonic in Brindisi, Maestro Miceli is currently the President and the Artistic Director of the Milano Metropolitan Orchestra, Music Director of the New York State Symphony Orchestra, Music Director of the Adelphi Symphony Orchestra and founder of the “Music & Conversations Concert Series“
Maestro Miceli is an Appia Records USA and Steinway Spirio recording artist.
In 2011 Stefano Miceli has been appointed Steinway Artist in Hamburg, Germany.
in 2023 Stefano Miceli was appointed Cavaliere dell'Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana by the President of the Republic of Italy, Mr. Sergio Mattarella.
