Join us on April 25th from 7pm-9pm for an art show reception with cyanotype prints by Sebastian Lamb and Bonnie Heath. Cyanotype is a cameraless photographic process that produces a blue image on paper or fabric, using a light-sensitive emulsion of iron salts and UV light exposure.
Sebastian and Bonnie have been creating cyanotype prints for the show during all four seasons with collected flowers, grasses and other natural objects found in Georgia. All of the flora used in the prints were gathered on walks, hikes and forays throughout the year in the Atlanta area.
The Wheel of the Year title represents all of the seasons in Georgia. Circles and spheres are a frequent symbol in the work. The circular shapes are sometimes made with watercolors and occasionally with bubbles or mushroom spore prints.
This show is a fundraiser for Sebastian’s class trip to Costa Rica in 2026 and a celebration of Sebastian’s 13th birthday. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Kirkwood UCC’s ministries like their food pantry and Food with Friends. https://www.kirkwooducc.com/local.html
