Artist Bio
Born in Fortín de las Flores, Veracruz, Mexico in 1965, the artist studied Urban Construction at the Colegio Nacional de Educación Profesional Técnica in Mexico City, where he earned a scholarship to attend the prestigious Escuela Nacional de Pintura y Escultura “La Esmeralda.” He later pursued additional training at the University of Guanajuato, Universidad Iberoamericana, and the Universidad Hermanos Saíz Montes de Oca in Cuba.

His professional career has been as diverse as his art: he worked as a designer and illustrator for the magazine Hollín, supervised major civil engineering projects in Mexico City, and served in public office in Guanajuato, coordinating programs for urban community development. Parallel to this civic career, he has created large-scale murals, including El hombre y la tecnología (Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl) and A los constructores del México actual (Azcapotzalco). His works have been featured at the Festival Internacional Cervantino and exhibited widely across Mexico, the United States, Cuba, and Peru.
In 2002, he was named President of the local branch of the Seminario de Cultura Mexicana in Acámbaro and awarded the Venera Quetzalcóatl for his artistic and cultural contributions. His paintings and murals have since been displayed in prestigious venues such as the Consulate General of Mexico in Miami, the Naples Depot Museum, the Miami River Art Fair, Big Arts Gallery in Florida, Montserrat Gallery in New York, and many others. He has also illustrated and designed book covers presented in Mexico, Peru, and the United States.

Critics in the United States have described his style as Neo-Geometric Expressionism, and curators have recognized him as an eclectic post-Cubist artist. Since 2016, he has returned to Mexico to create monumental public murals in Veracruz, integrating art into architectural spaces such as municipal palaces and cultural centers. His extensive body of work reflects both a deep connection to Mexican heritage and a contemporary, universal artistic language.
