We are pleased to welcome you to the grand opening Gala of our new Community Arts Center at Queen and Spadina! Moving from our last 750sqft location on Dufferin, this is a sprawling 2000 square feet of co-working space, workshop and classroom, gallery and event space!
We invite you to attend in formal attire (or whatever that idea inspires in you), dance to the amazing musical lineup for the night, purchase some art from six featured visual artists, and help SubLunar raise some some backup funds to ensure our new space remains open, even during difficult times!

Come in through the front door, upstairs to the second floor of the building, and down the hall until you see our unit.
πFUNDRAISINGπ
Part of the goal of this Gala will be to fundraise for SubLunar's reserve funds. Space in Toronto is expensive, and getting new programming off the ground costs money, and as a registered not for profit, SubLunar tends to operate using all of our revenue.
The more money we have in reserve, the better we are able to handle slower months without scaling back our programming, and the easier it is for us to offer new programming as a community center.
π₯FEATURED VISUAL ARTISTSπ₯
Six visual artists from our community will have their work on display for you to purchase. A portion of each purchase will go toward SubLunar.
More Details to Come!
πSUPPORTING MEMBERSHIPπ
Along with our co-working membership, which is $150 / month for everyday use of the space to work on art projects, we will also offer a new $20/month supporting membership, which is a way for community members who can afford it, to support our work.
Each membership comes with a SubLunar pendant, a free drink ticket at all our events, and free access to SubLunar programming that would normally be $5 admission (movie nights, workshops, etc).
Supporting memberships will be available soon!
π₯WHAT WE OFFERπ₯
The SubLunar Center offers a number of services as a community center. We will talk about all of them in more detail at the Gala.

πππππ ππππππ: Once a month, we host a curated double feature of films we consider interesting.
π πππ ππππ ππππππ: Sometimes dance parties, sometimes potlucks, sometimes outdoor picnics, every full moon we host an event that brings the community together.
πππππππ πππππ: A rotating selection of work from featured artists in our community will be on display at the space, available for purchase.
πππ πππππππ: Seasonal art markets featuring arts and crafts created by community members.
πππππππππ πππππππ: Bringing the community together through collaborative art means more than just visual art or music. We will be building a community theatre troop, and offering stage performances.
πππππ ππππππ: Be it for a workshop, movement class, meeting or event, the SubLunar Center is available to rent out at an hourly rate.
$50/hr for non-profits and community, and $100/for profit and resourced orgs. Contact [email protected] for bookings.
Evening events are also possible, at a very reasonable rate! Contact us for more!
π CONSENT CULTURE π
Our community celebrates the importance of consent culture. We expect that interactions between participants (and this includes more than just sexual advances) are to be based on communication, checking for consent, and respect. If youβre unsure about an interaction or unsure if you have consent, please remember to ask first.
Remember, only an ongoing, positive, enthusiastic response means Yes!
Please bring any concerns you may have to our organizers and clearly marked vibe-patrol volunteers, or e-mail [email protected]
π₯ WHO WE ARE π₯
SubLunar Community Arts Society is a non-profit organization that seeks to address the growing issue of social isolation by promoting collaborative art projects, shared experiences, spirituality, and electronic music.
We operate in Toronto and Vancouver, and are hoping to build stronger cultural ties between both cities.
