About this Event
Step inside the working studio during one of Berlin's most exciting art weekends.
Studio Baustelle is an artist-run space for art, events and experiments in Neukölln, Berlin ArtRabbit, and this May it throws open its doors as part of Sellerie Weekend — Berlin's off-program for project spaces running alongside Gallery Weekend, 1–3 May 2026. The initiative aims to create visibility for the work of independent art spaces in the city through joint action. Sellerie-weekend
This is not a polished white-cube show. It's an invitation into the creative process itself — works in progress, finished pieces, prints for sale, and live presence from the artists who made them. Expect conversation, spontaneity, and a genuine glimpse behind the curtain of contemporary artistic practice.
The weekend features work by eight artists:
- Monika Berstis — wood collages assembled from carpentry scraps, exploring order, line, and found beauty
- Tahian Bhering — expressive acrylic paintings and mixed-media collages
- Lisa Gratzke — a painting from her 2023 series On, exploring color as emotional vocabulary
- Aaron Jack — figurative works in International Klein Blue and gold, made from live observation at Studio Baustelle's own drawing sessions
- Annsofie Jonsson — the Re-Dot series: new layers painted over old canvases, where past and present merge
- Camille Moreno — collages reconfiguring found commercial and printed materials through recontextualisation and "ghetto gilding"
- Janin Walter — mixed media works from her research projects Healing and On Oceans, exploring architecture, the body, and color
- Håkan Jonsson — sound artist and electroacoustic explorer
Live Performance — Saturday 2 May, 5–6 PM: Håkan Jonsson performs The water is always black — prelude, a live sound piece marking the beginning of the Hugsten exhibition tour (Sweden, June; Berlin, September). Hugsten is the collaborative practice of Håkan and Annsofie Jonsson, working at the intersection of visual art, sound, and ritual.
Works and prints are available to purchase throughout the weekend.
