About this Event
Have you ever had a vendor cut features and raise prices at the same time? It’s a basic business strategy for tech companies: Once you get locked into using it, you have no choice but to pay more! Accounting software companies like Intuit and Wave are prime examples.
Wouldn’t it be better if you could just own your software? Especially if you could build our local tech ecosystem and tap into a global support network in the process. It could only be even better if it were FREE! Well, you can, you do, and it is… open source software. There are multiple options but you need tech capabilities to sort through them.
Chattanooga.Digital is here to make it easy. Its role is to deploy, maintain, manage, and support open source software for you, that you own, can use and modify, or not, as appropriate. It is being established as a non-profit cooperative to minimize costs and so you only pay for what you use. Dr. Greg Laudeman has led large-scale tech infrastructure planning for over 25 years and is now focusing on how we can build software infrastructure to support small businesses and other community members.
Join us for this workshop to explore open source solutions for small business accounting. We will cover the options, key considerations, and how collaboration can help you to own your accounting (and other!) software. Attendees will leave with a clear action plan for addressing accounting and related business tech requirements.
