Join us for a welcoming, alcohol-free Open Mic Night at The Base, presented in partnership with City Writes.
This is a supportive, relaxed space for people to share poetry, spoken word, music, or short stories — whether you’re a regular performer or trying the mic for the first time. You’re just as welcome to come along to listen and enjoy the atmosphere.
What to expect
- A friendly, respectful room
- 5–7 minute performance slots
- Beginners and new voices very welcome
- Hosted with care, blending creativity, community, and wellbeing

- A microphone and basic PA will be provided
- Acoustic instruments and backing tracks are welcome
- Please note: no filming or photography of performers without consent
