About this Event
At this meeting, we will plan crucial next steps in our Divest Now! campaign. We will guide the meeting with an agenda and breakout groups to plan our next actions ahead of the pensions committee meeting on November 26, and discuss our strategy ahead of the local election in May next year. Everyone is encouraged to contribute in a way that works for them.
Thanks to the ongoing campaigning of local residents, Waltham Forest Council has agreed to fully divest pensions from the arms trade. This is a huge win. However, there is still much more work to do, as the council still has investments in companies complicit in human rights abuses in Palestine. Despite promises to review these investments, both the council and the London Collective Investment Vehicle (LCIV) appear to be sidestepping responsibility. At the most recent pensions committee meeting, the council provided no update or road map for divestment. We need to apply more pressure and hold them accountable.

The Mill community centre has 25 seats in the space. As it is not a large venue we would appreciate it if you could return your ticket and let the organiser know if you can no longer make it.
Access
The cafe has step-free access, a ground-floor toilet and a kitchenette to make hot and cold drinks.
