About this Event
New York-based choreographers Rashaun Mitchell and Silas Reiner bring their cutting-edge project to the Moody. This iteration of our signature series, Dimensions Variable, offers another take on artificial intelligence through the lens of experimental dance. Coinciding with the spring exhibition, "Imaging after Photography," this unique experience features technically precise dancers wearing sensory devices that follow algorithmic rules, which are simultaneously reflected on large LED screens in the Moody’s Lois Chiles Studio Theater.
This innovative performance is set to a score by electronic-music composer Mas Ysa and vocalist Charmaine Lee. The Moody performance follows the debut of Open Machine in New York, co-commissioned by NYU Skirball and The Walker Art Center.
