Tour our arts center, meet your child’s dance teacher, and connect with other Moving in the Spirit families at this fun, festive event.
Join us throughout the day for:
- Studio tours
- Sample dance classes
- Short performances
- Balloons, popsicles, face painting, and more!
The first 100 children to arrive will receive free goodie bags with special giveaways.
Moving in the Spirit’s Open House is a free community event.

Getting to Moving in the Spirit:
Moving in the Spirit is located at 1458 La France St NE, Atlanta, GA 30307, with street parking in the neighborhood around our facility. Please do not block any streets or driveways when parking.
We are easily accessible by train — right next to MARTA’s Edgewood/Candler Park station — and we strongly encourage the use of public transportation or ridesharing services.
There is also abundant free parking in the MARTA parking deck behind Moving in the Spirit. To enter, use the deck entrance on Mayson Avenue. After you park, you can walk to Moving in the Spirit from the exit on Level 1.
Additional free parking is available on the DeKalb Avenue side of the Edgewood/Candler Park MARTA station at 1475 DeKalb Ave, NE Atlanta, GA 30307. Simply park in the lot, ascend the stairs, and cross the pedestrian bridge over DeKalb Avenue to arrive at Moving in the Spirit.
About Moving in the Spirit:
Moving in the Spirit is a creative youth development program that uses dance to help children and teens build the skills they need to thrive.
We offer classes based in modern dance and creative movement, with opportunities to study ballet, hip hop, jazz, and West African dance. Artistic content focuses on unity, empathy, and making a difference in the world.
Young people in our programs:
- Study modern dance, choreography, and other dance forms
- Perform in a year-end show
- Work with our city’s top teaching and professional artists
- Become creative artists and compassionate leaders
We accept students ages 3-18, beginner to advanced. Open-level classes are available for all ages, and sliding scale tuition is available.
