May 6th will be a key day for Open Design Editions 2026: the jury will publicly announce the selected projects for this second edition, and we will have an open conversation with Héctor Serrano, National Design Award 2024.

Selected Projects Announcement
The jury will reveal the selected projects that will move into the development and production phase. Up to 5 proposals will begin their journey from idea to real prototype, with personalized mentorship, technical support, and final exhibition at Barcelona Design Week in October.
Jury: Nani Marquina, Héctor Serrano, Emerio Arena, Júlia Esqué, Gerard Sanmartí, and Maria Ruiz Ulibarri
Conversation with Héctor Serrano
Based in Valencia and trained at the Royal College of Art in London, Serrano is one of the most relevant figures in contemporary Spanish design. He has worked with firms such as Muji, Roca, FontanaArte, Gandía Blasco, and Seletti.
In this talk, he will share his experience on how to take projects from concept to production, work with the industry, and build a consistent career over 25 years.
About Open Design Editions
Open Design Editions is a six-month program led by Lagranja Design for emerging designers who want to develop and produce real pieces. Selected participants will have access to personalized mentorship, technical support, and final exhibition at Barcelona Design Week.
Open Design Talks are open conversations with industry professionals, free and open to the public.
