Join us on Zoom for a relaxed and friendly untutored portrait drawing session, open to drawers of all abilities and levels of experience!
About this Event

If you’ve never tried portrait drawing online before, this session is great place to start. You’ll be drawing from a model posing live over Zoom alongside sketchers of all abilities, from around the world. In this clothed portrait session our model will pose live on Zoom for three head-and-shoulder focused poses.

The clothed model will hold a 10-minute relaxed warm up pose where the model chats to our session leader, giving you the chance to get to know them a bit better. They will then hold a 45-minute-long pose, followed by a 10-minute tea break and a final 45-minute pose.

The session is untutored with a session leader on hand to offer help and we’ll have a different model posing virtually each week – if you’d like some pointers on getting started, take a look at this video HERE.

Our model this week is to be confirmed. The session will be led by Draw Head Tutor Jake Spicer - Jake is an experienced teacher and author with a passion for teaching people how to draw. His recent book ‘Figure Drawing’ is available for purchase HERE.

Before the session

Before the session, make sure you have a Zoom account and drawing materials for the class
At the advertised time of the session, set yourself up to draw in front of your device, sign in to Zoom and click on the link in your email to join the class.

Looking after the model

Please, never take photographs or screen shots of the model
Keep your camera ON during the session – this helps the model to feel safe and to maintain the sense of community that is so important to our classes. If you cannot turn your camera on, let the session leader know with a message at the start of the session.
You are always welcome to send the model a thankyou tip via the link that accompanies your booking.

After the session
