About this Event

The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom by Don Miguel Ruiz

Based on ancient Toltec Wisdom, The Four Agreements offer a powerful code of conduct that can rapidly transform our experience of freedom, true happiness, and love. Since the book was published in 1997 it has become an iconic staple in the self-help section of bookstores everywhere.

What started as a simple concept has become a cultural phenomenon with Ruiz’s writings managing to weave their way into people's hearts, touch their souls, and change us for the better. With over 15 million copies in the U.S. alone, it’s among the few with the staying power to top the New York Times Bestselling list for over a decade! While this book is a quick and easy read, its power lies in its simplicity.

The Book Club will meet weekly for six-weeks as we focus on the agreements one-by-one and put them into practice by incorporating each into our daily lives. Part discussion-group, part support-group, part social-group each participant will learn and talk about: how they view the agreements, what they mean to them, and any challenges they have in understanding and adopting them for personal growth. Each week will also include a short mediation related to that week's lesson.

This group is open to all who are interested. Whether this is your first time or you’ve read it before and want a refresher, this book can be enjoyed endless times with new discoveries in each read. Come for the camaraderie or share in the love of the universal teachings by making the magic of the Toltec Wisdom part of your day-to-day life.

About CelebrateLife:

CelebrateLIFE! is a Spiritualist community in San Francisco located near Lafayette Park on Franklin Street. Our membership is joyfully inclusive: We welcome ALL people. What brings us together is our shared belief that we are not simply Human Beings having a Spiritual Experience, but rather Spiritual Beings having a Human Experience.

As Spiritual Beings there exists a life-after-this-life in the Spiritual Realm which is proven through the divine attributes of mediumship. We celebrate together our passion for living this life with all the enthusiasm, purpose, and fun Spirit intends for us. And that True Religion is best defined as an Individual's Spiritual Journey. We are not a religion of conversion. We do not proselytize. We spread the Truth about Spiritualism only by example, through self-evolution and teaching those who come seeking answers. We honor the Truth found in all faiths.

Our origins began in 2006 when several Bay Area locals were inspired with the idea of a responsive, people-focused, spiritual community. We are proud of our Spiritualist roots that helped launch the Abolitionist and Women's Right's Movements, and we desire to be on the leading edge of contemporary society as we make a positive difference!
