About this Event
Here's something we've noticed after 13 years of running The Improv Company: most people aren't struggling to adapt and innovate because they lack the intelligence or drive to. They struggle because old habits, inner noise, and the need to look competent get in the way.
That's exactly what this workshop is for. We use applied improvisation as a serious lens for self-development. The extremely experiential exercises we'll work through are designed to help you notice the patterns that limit you and, even more crucially, to help you practise something different—in real time, and with other people.
In two hours, you'll:
- Discover what your default responses reveal about how you handle uncertainty
- Use improv exercises to practise genuine presence and responsive thinking
- Walk away with a felt — not just intellectual — experience of what it's like to adapt, create, and connect more freely
No performance or improv experience needed at all. Just you showing up curious and open.
Who this is for: Working professionals who are curious, self-aware, and ready to be a little uncomfortable in the service of discovering something valuable about themselves.
What to expect: Applied improv exercises drawn from 13 years of practice. These will be grounded in human psychology, somatic awareness, and OD (Organizational Development) principles — but none of that jargon will be in the room. Small group, by design. Facilitated by Kim Tan and Hazel Ho, co-founders of The Improv Company.
