About this Event
On Polar Tides
Polar bears, icebergs, a forty-foot tidal range, the Northern Lights… all to be expected around Baffin Island, Ungava, and Northern Labrador. Join Nigel Foster for a glimpse of joys and scary moments paddling in the arctic wilderness. Two adventures make up this single story, the first a solo epic in 1981, the second, with Kristin Nelson, a five-week wilderness journey also with unexpected twists.
Nigel Foster, for those who don’t know him, is an English paddler. He has spent a lifetime instructing kayaking around the world, has designed a range of sea kayaks, and is author of more than a dozen books. One of these books and the subject of this presentation: ‘On Polar Tides,’ was first released as ‘Stepping Stones of Ungava and Labrador.’ Learn more at www.nigelkayaks.com.
