**Omar Velasco** is a singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose music blends modern folk, soul, and roots rock with a deep sense of honesty and emotional searching. Born to a Mexican mother and Jewish father and raised between California and Mexico, he spent years working as a collaborator and sideman with artists including Jonathan Wilson, Jenny O., and Mia Doi Todd, and has toured internationally, opening for My Morning Jacket and Father John Misty.Seeking a break from the grind of city life, Velasco moved with his wife and two children to a ranch, where they built a small cabin surrounded by open land and quiet. That transition inspired *Over the Hill*, his upcoming solo album, written and recorded with close friends in an intimate home setting. The songs are spare, soulful, and reflective, exploring love, faith, struggle, and renewal. Blending timeless songwriting with rich textures, his work recalls Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen, Caetano Veloso, and George Harrison.
