Old Towne Forest Forensics: Two ToursWednesday, October 1, 1:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. tours; tickets required.
The concept of “forest forensics” was coined by Tom Wessels and means to look for clues on land to understand human, climatic, and geologic actions that shaped a forest. We are thrilled to partner with MSU Extension’s Forestry and Natural Resources Educator, Anna Ellis, to take a hike at Old Towne in Negaunee. Once a neighborhood, the “caving grounds” are now a forest with a fascinating past.
Pre-registration is required. Tickets on sale now. $10.00 per ticket; maximum 25 people per tour. Start at Jackson Mine Park Pavilion (Tobin St & Snow St). For more info visit marquettehistory.org or call 906.226.3571.
