As a warm-up to this year's Tons of Rock festival Old No. 50 Band will be celebrating KISS' year of 1974 by playing both their self-titled debut album (including the "Kissin' Time" single) and "Hotter Than Hell" in their entirety, the day before it all breaks loose at Ekebergsletta.Entrance is free, and all guests are instead encouraged to Vipps a fitting sum to this year's charity, which is Barnekreftforeningen. There will be posters around the venue with QR-codes sending you the right way, and we'll also post the number here in the event if you can't attend but still want to contribute.

A bit about the band:
Old No. 50 Band is the brainchild of Ashe Draven and Christian Lie, and the idea for this entire project came about some 5 years ago, when they realized that a lot of the music they loved started celebrating its 50th anniversaries. Having done several gigs with one-off band constellations doing various covers before, they decided this should be a yearly thing, where they would be the only two consistent members and the rest of the members being switched up year by year according to what was needed and who’d be available. For each gig there would also be guest artists from other well renowned bands, with maybe a special attachment to what they’d be guesting on.
The gigs would celebrate either an album, a band, a tour or just a collection of songs that turn 50 that respective year, and the proceeds would go to a pre chosen charity.
The plan was to get started in 2021, but then the plague hit, and like the rest of the world this project was also put on hold. But now they’re finally ready to launch, and seeing as how we're now in 2024, and are celebrating things from 1974, it was sanctioned by a certain member of the duo that the first gig had to undertake everything KISS released in its inaugural year!
And right off the bat they're also breaking the ONE rule they have, about the founding duo needing to be in each year, as Mr. Lie has a lot going on with his own solo project, meaning he simply don't have the time this...err…time... But as you can see above they've still managed to put together a great line-up, and they're ready to rock your socks off!
