For one special weekend, The Yards Collective is opening the vault.Over the years, artists, collaborators, and community members have generously donated artworks to The Yards — gestures of trust, care, and belief in what this space makes possible. Old Building, Big Heart brings those works together in a rare, two-day pop-up exhibition and sale, inviting our community to take a piece of that history home.
This event supports the ongoing sustainability of The Yards as a women-owned, community-supported creative space. As costs for consumables, utilities, and building maintenance continue to rise, Kristina is working hard to absorb those increases without passing them on to our studio members.
Proceeds from this weekend will help create a financial buffer that allows us to continue supporting emerging artists, cover shared studio supplies, and tend to the very real needs of a 100+ year-old building — from floor & wall repairs to some truly mysterious water leaks.
In 2025 alone, The Yards also quietly covered rent for tenants navigating economic strain, because community care doesn’t always happen on a balance sheet — but it does require one.
In partnership with Red Dot Virtual, this exhibition will live on beyond the weekend through their new online platform. Any works not purchased on site will be available to collect with shipping and handling coordinated by The Yards, extending access to this exhibition while continuing to support the long-term health of the space.
