About this Event
Illustration Programme at Camberwell College of Arts present The Office for Speculative Landscapes, a dynamic illustration festival at Camberwell Space, blending workshops, performances, talks, and discussions. Reimagined as a hybrid critical-illustration studio and arts-education think-tank, the space will foster experimentation, community, and creative play.
GET A LIFE by Daniel David Freeman
The event aims to shed light on the potential of wearable images in both real life and the digital world through Freeman’s imaginary clothing brand GET A LIFE.
By combining emerging technologies through film and performance through dance this one-night exhibition will explore how fashion can blur established genres of creativity.
A film shot on location in Kyoto, Japan starring an AR version of London based dancer Kamilla Halid head to toe in GET A LIFE will form the backdrop of a live performance by her and 5 collaborators.
The dancers will wear newly embellished items of GET A LIFE clothing carrying artworks by Daniel David Freeman. Moving to a soundtrack of classic Detroit techno the performance will prove how fun an exhibition opening can be whilst questioning what they even are.
