9 to 5: The Musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, follows three female coworkers - Violet, Judy, and Doralee - who are struggling under the rule of their sexist and egotistical boss, Franklin Hart Jr. In a comedic act of revenge, the trio imprisons Hart and creates the change in their workplace that they want to see. Set in the late 1970s, 9 to 5 tells a tale of friendship, and empowerment in the Rolodex Era.
