About "Bookmarks & Bonding"There's been a lot of interest in a community-focused event to meet neighbors who love to read. It’s a great opportunity to make new friends and deepen connections.
No book discussion necessary — just bring your enthusiasm and readiness to connect with those around you. This event will be less formal than our book discussions, and people can come and go as they feel.

Día de los Muertos Xicágo
October 25, 2025, 3:00 – 8:00 pm
Harrison Park, 1824 S Wood St, Chicago, IL 60608
Save the Date: Join us on Saturday, October 25th, as we celebrate Día de los Muertos by transforming the Museum and its surroundings into a beautiful space to remember our departed loved ones. Experience the beauty of this beloved tradition through ofrendas created by community members, live music and performances, art activities, and a stunning illuminated ofrenda projected onto the exterior of the Museum. Together, we will honor the memory of our departed loved ones.
If you’re interested in reserving an ofrenda space or submitting a photograph of your departed loved one to be displayed during Day of the Dead Xicágo, please check this page: https://nationalmuseumofmexicanart.org/events/dia-de-los-muertos-xicago-745 on October 1st for the link to sign up.
