About this Event
🌊 Seabin™ is dedicated to stopping marine plastic pollution through education, litter prevention and research.
👩🔬 The Ocean Health Lab is a research space designed for scientists to gather insights on marine plastic pollution found in Seabin™, an Australian innovative technology acting like a rubbish bin (similar to a pool skimmer) installed in the water of marinas, ports and harbours.
🔬 As of 2026, there are 20 Seabins operating around Sydney Harbour, 24/7. When emptied by Seabin™ technicians, some of the catches are brought to the Ocean Health Lab for data monitoring of 55 plastic categories, including microplastics.
🆓 Our friendly team opens the Ocean Health Lab for 15-minute free public tours twice daily on most weekdays. You can arrive at any time during the promoted tour timeframes.
🚶♂️ The tour takes you to a Seabin in action at the museum and inside the Ocean Health Lab for a brief overview of the meaningful work undertaken to prevent plastic pollution.
‼️ Given that the Ocean Health Lab is a small space, we recommend that groups of 8 people or more inquire about a booking as per the option below. 👇
🗓️ For hands-on and more in-depth workshops (30 minutes to half-day options), please email your inquiry to [email protected], to pre-book for paid experiences.
