The talented artists involved in Ridgewood funhouse/nightclub/venue TV EYE take over OWL’s stage and DJ booth from afternoon ‘til early morn! Long time Soul Scream regulars since the season when we first started presenting bands, MIRANDA & THE BEAT, featuring TVE sound engineer DYLAN FERNANDEZ, have since developed an international following through consistant touring and releasing records on Third Man, Khannibalism, Ernest Jenning, and other notable imprints! JAIRITO Y LA ONDA is a new beyond-category psychedelic latin-tinged project of Panamanian musician, writer composer and producer JAIRO BARSALLO, who you can catch at TVE in The Wild Yaks and other great bands! MALA VISTA, the official classic 70s-style punk band of NYC, currently coasting off of the release of their new acclaimed LP "Fun Time," is led by TVE door czar Myke Miranda! SHOP TALK, the angular punk trio you've been waiting for, led by TVE bartender JON GARCIA, have been burning up stages across the USA all year since the release of their debut EP “The Offering!" GARGOYLE, featuring TVE chief mixologist, DJ, and rowdy Texan SLEEV, is the killer new dark synth aggregation making waves all over town! NYC's favorite THE CURE interpreters, ALL CATS ARE GREY, featuring TVE partner, book-keeper, and all-around MVP AMANDA HAASE, reconvene for their their first gig in some time to honor this special occasion! GENUINE CONNECTION is TVE barkeep, scene superstar, and former member of SPITE FUXXX and many others, ANAIS VALDEZ's new project! And last but not least, DITA & THE HURRICANES, who make their world debut tonight, is led by bartender and jack of all trades DITA GONZALEZ! Finally, your DJs for the afternoon/evening include hunky bartender and Texas punk hero of GLUE, etc, CODY COX, fabulous NYC icon and door daddy extraordinaire EUGENE GREEN, Midnight Cowboy and TVE manager HAYDEN HINTON-DESCHNER, TVE partner, downtown bar legend, lead singer of Sacred Bones Records stars THE HUNT, JASPER MCGANDY, and more!
And, as per usual, the annual summer weekly FREE SOUL DANCE ritual starts up after the show and bangs deep into the morning with exquisite, eccentric, and exciting 45rpm vinyl magic of globetrotting dee jay JONATHAN TOUBIN and friends! GET DOWN UP ON THE ROOF every summer Sunday!
