The NYC Drawing the Dance workshop is organized by Creative Performances @creativeperformances & presented by Dixon Place Theater @dixonplace

Our next NYC Drawing the Dance Workshop is as follows:

Date: September 20, 2025, SATURDAY.

Time: 12:30 p.m. (EST) - In-person at the theater & also live broadcasting from EST.

Venue : Dixon Place Theater, 161A Chrystie Street, Btwn Delancey & Rivington, NY 10002.

Dancer/Model: Erin Diehl

Erin Diehl is a New York City-based dancer. Trained in styles ranging from ballet to Irish dance, she is a versatile performer with experience working in various environments.

Her education includes Summer Intensive work with prestigious ballet companies as well as contemporary and theatre workshops with some of the most renowned names in the industry. Erin graduated from the University of Utah in 2022 with a BFA in ballet as well as minors in Korean and Linguistics and a TESOL certification. Since earning her degree she has danced professionally with multiple ballet companies and recently performed in the first national tour of Rand Productions’ Christmas in the Air.

Outside of dance Erin teaches English to speakers of other languages at New York Language Center and is a passionate environmentalist. Theme: Jazz

Duration: Approx. 2hrs workshop with a 10 minutes break for costume change. Each half is around 30 to 40 min long. Poses start at 30 sec to 1 min for warm up and then we move on to 3min, 5min, 8min in the first half and 5 min,10 min and 15 minutes poses in the second half. Dancer dancers slowly before holding each pose.

What to expect: The dancer will dance very slowly and will hold poses in between dance moves.

In-Person Tickets in advance: $18. In-Person attendees please arrive at the theater at least 15 minutes before the workshop time.Virtual tickets: $15. * Zoom link will be sent to the virtual attendees, on the morning of the event.Tickets at the door (cash preferred): $20.

If you feel sick & can not join in person, please let us know asap and we will be happy to send you the zoom link instead, and you may attend the workshop virtually.

BRING ALL YOUR OWN MATERIALS, drawing boards, portable easels, or draw on pads on your laps, etc. No glitters, please. Be mindful of your belongings. The organizer or the venue are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Dixon Place has music stands that we often use for keeping materials or drawing pads.

Each artist keeps his/her own drawings/paintings. The dancers and/or the organizers may request the artists for a photo of the art work. It will be at the artists' discretions whether they want to share the photos of their art or not.

And lastly, there won't be any instruction or any instructor. We expect the attending artists to have prior knowledge of drawing and painting to try these workshops for a new experience.
