About this Event
BRIDGEGOOD is excited to invite students and emerging professionals to a special industry visit in Santa Clara focused on careers in silicon hardware, AI, and advanced computing.
This experience will feature a talk hosted by Kartikay Garg, Senior Engineer at NVIDIA, who works on improving the energy efficiency of next-generation computing platforms that support advanced AI applications and large-scale computing workloads.
With a background in Computer Architecture, Parallel Systems Programming, and Machine Learning Accelerators, Kartikay works at the intersection of silicon hardware and AI systems. His work helps power technologies shaping the future of computing.
During this experience, students will gain insight into:
- What careers in Silicon Hardware Design can look like
- How AI is used in day-to-day engineering work
- The intersection of hardware, software, and machine learning
- What it takes to build energy-efficient, high-performance systems
- Technical and professional skills that support success in the field
Students will walk away with a clearer understanding of how these disciplines come together in real-world engineering environments and what it can take to pursue future opportunities in technology.
At BRIDGEGOOD, we believe exposure creates opportunity. Experiences like this help students better understand what is possible, build confidence, and see that careers in advanced technology are within reach.
If you are curious about hardware, AI, or building the future of computing, this is an experience you will not want to miss.
Speaker Bio
Kartikay Garg is a Senior Engineer at NVIDIA, where he focuses on improving the energy efficiency of next-generation computing platforms. With a background in Computer Architecture, Parallel Systems Programming, and Machine Learning Accelerators, Kartikay works at the intersection of silicon hardware and AI systems, helping design technologies that power today’s most advanced computing workloads.
He earned his Master’s degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, where he defended his thesis in 2017. Since then, he has been building high-performance, energy-efficient systems and silicon that enable large-scale AI and accelerated computing.
At NVIDIA, Kartikay collaborates across hardware, software, and AI teams to design efficient architectures that deliver reliable operation for modern machine learning applications. He is passionate about mentoring students and early-career engineers, and about helping demystify careers in Silicon Hardware Design, especially for students who may not traditionally see themselves represented in the tech industry.
Through this partnership with BRIDGEGOOD, Kartikay aims to provide students with an inside look at careers in Silicon Valley, the role AI plays in everyday engineering work, and the technical and soft skills needed to thrive in leading technology companies.
About BRIDGEGOOD
BRIDGEGOOD is an Oakland based nonprofit that helps students build careers in design, tech, and AI through free programs, real world opportunities, and trusted coaching. Since 2009, BRIDGEGOOD has served 36,000+ learners, helped 900+ graduates land roles in design and tech, and created pathways for first generation, low income, and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color students to grow their skills, confidence, and career opportunities.
