About this Event
The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority is the non-departmental government body responsible for one of the largest environmental restoration projects in Europe; cleaning up the UK’s civil nuclear legacy.
They sponsor academic research at the postgraduate level at universities across the UK to ensure that we have the fundamental knowledge to underpin our strategies, and to create the technical experts and future leaders that we need to carry out the mission over the 100+ years it will take.
The NDA’s Research Manager, Rick Short, will give an overview of the mission and talk about the wide range of topics that are covered by the NDA’s academic research programme. This goes beyond just “nuclear science” and includes themes as broad as socioeconomics, risk forecasting, business management, heritage and organisational psychology.
