About this Event
“It’s amazing what you can hear on the subway. Even when you don’t want to.”
Written and performed by storyteller and actress Fabiana Mattedi, NOTES ON COLLAGEN is a comic and heartfelt reckoning with beauty, aging, and identity. In this one-woman show, Mattedi blends sharp humor with poignant self-reflection as she interrogates the paradoxes of beauty — its power and its poison, its promise and its price. From the pressures of “aging gracefully” to the subtle violence of societal expectations, NOTES ON COLLAGEN invites audiences to laugh, think, and confront the invisible forces that shape how we see ourselves — and each other. Poignant, biting, and unexpectedly funny, this one-woman show dares to ask: what happens when we stop trying to preserve ourselves and start claiming ourselves instead?
