A Lakeside tradition for more than 70 years, the Northwestern Ohio Gladiolus Society Show returns to Wesley Lodge for a weekend filled with color and creativity. Show hours are 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 and 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16.Organized by Cliff and Doris Hartline and dedicated volunteers, this exhibit showcases spectacular gladiolus blooms and arrangements. From soft pastels to bold, dramatic hues, these towering blossoms create a celebration of summer in full color, a perfect stop for flower lovers and photographers alike.
Guests can also meet members of the Gladiolus Society, who will be on hand to share growing tips, answer questions and help newcomers learn how to cultivate and display these flowers at home.
For growers interested in exhibiting: The show is open-entry, and local growers are invited to bring their gladioli on Saturday morning for assistance with preparing and displaying their entries.
As a special tradition, the flowers will be shared with Lakesiders free of charge following the show’s close on Sunday, beginning at approximately 4:15 p.m. outside Wesley Lodge.
Whether you come to admire the displays, learn growing secrets or share blooms of your own, this long-standing Lakeside favorite is not to be missed.
