About this Event
Hi friends,
This is our inaugural post on EventBrite of an event from our group Highly Sensitive People (HSP) of Toronto, which has been running on Meetup since 2022, putting on events (mostly walks) for highly sensitive and neurodiverse people over the last several years. We are in the process of moving over to other platforms (such as EventBrite) and happy to welcome new folks in this way!
Our group was traditionally a space for highly sensitive people to meet and find community. Given that many of our members are neurodiverse in various ways, we're doing a soft launch of adding "Neurodiverse" to our group name.

Anyways - the event! Sorry.
Yes. This will be a walk/hike (it's kind of hike-y but really not intense, you could call it a walk), through Toronto's beautiful and underrated ravine system stretching from Alexander Muir Park and Gardens (just south of Yonge & Lawrence), through several parks across to Sunnybrook Park.
**
The Meeting Point will be just outside of the front steps of the Locke Branch of Toronto Public Library, on the Yonge Street side, just a few steps south of the intersection of Yonge and Lawrence (near Lawrence station).
We will meet there at 2:30 pm - to allow for latecomers or folks delayed through transit, we won't start walking until 2:45/2:50 pm. Most people arrive between 2:30 and 2:45.
We then walk south briefly on Yonge street, to the entrance of beautiful Alexander Muir gardens- some info from the internet: "Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens might be a bit less known than some of the other public gardens in Toronto, but it's just as breathtaking with stone balconies and crushed brick walkways surrounded by lush greenery." It was created in 1933 and made an international list of "25 best urban design projects.
From here we continue eastward traversing several ravine parks including Blythwood Ravine, Sherwood, Sunnydene Park, and onto Sunnybrook Park. This is one of the quieter and (in my opinion) more beautiful and serene stretches of park and ravine in Toronto.
It is a fairly continuous stretch of ravines and parks, so a nice little escape from the city.
The end point will be at Sunnybrook Park Station on Line 5 (Eglinton Line). From here you're free to head out to from where you came, or anywhere else.
**
What will we do? Basically it is a community walk/hike. People tend to chat together in pairs or little groups, or just enjoy the scenery and a nature break.
**
Since our group has been running (on meetup) for almost 4 years now, we have several regular folks who come semi-regularly; there are always plenty of new people too.
FYI there are at this moment about 15 people signed up through meetup- I'll open up around 10 EventBrite tickets to avoid making it too huge a group.

You can bring water or snacks, if you think you might need those, sun protection, and wear comfortable shoes.
See you soon :)
