Book Group- Hosted by Amanda Johnston and Alex Michael, meets for the 1st time, at The Castle, a board-game cafe, located 140 Rantoul St., Beverly. Plan to meet the 3rd Sunday monthly, or open to discussion with participants. Types of Books: Fiction( all genres) & Memoir, with a focus on queer authors(but not necessarily exclusively) - Join and help us build our book list!-What to expect at the first meeting? We’ll spend our first meeting getting to know each other and learn what we like to read, and building a list of our first 4- 6 books to keep momentum going. Bring suggestions! We will discuss desired length of meeting. Ideally folks can come at 1, or close to it, so that we can get started.
-The venue: The Castle is a board-game café, but they have regular tables and a full food and drink menu. It is located next to the MBTA station( Newburyport/ Rockport lines), with plenty of street and garage parking nearby. Www.thecastlebeverly.com
Your 2 hosts: Amanda- lives in Manchester-by-the-Sea, and previously hosted a book group through the North Shore Lesbian group. She enjoys reading a range of fiction and memoir, and is looking forward to meeting new folks to talk books and life. - Alex- lives in Salem and has run a book club on the North Shore before. He likes to read genres related to fantasy, sci-fi, and memoir primarily. He’s looking forward to co-leading this new group, meeting new people, and reading new books!
