Capture scenes that captivate, inspire, and leave a lasting impact on your audience. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to create more engaging and impactful photos and videos. Understand the rules of composition and use them consistently as guidelines to direct the viewer’s attention, making every photo stand out—whether for your professional portfolio or personal moments. Frame with intention.
In this workshop, you’ll gain valuable insights into the art of compositing a frame , including:
- Applying key composition rules like the Rule of Thirds, Leading Lines, and Symmetry.
- Key techniques to enhance visual impact, such as the use of contrast, negative space, color, texture, and black and white.
- Using grids to analyze and improve your photos and videos, focusing on composition first in-camera, then cropping or adjusting in post-production.
- Tips for framing moments that capture the viewer’s attention, illustrated with examples from my work and those of other creators.
Participants are encouraged to bring photos that demonstrate composition techniques or seek advice on improving future shots. Submit up to 2 photos by [Date] at [BevCam email]. The workshop includes a Q&A session to discuss composition and creating stronger visual stories.

About Leo Santiesteban:
Leo Santiesteban is a Cuban photographer based in Massachusetts. He gained valuable experience in audiovisual and documentary photography during the late 2010s, when Cuba opened its doors to international creators. Working on global projects, Leo received mentorship from industry experts both from Cuba and around the world.
Traveling throughout Cuba allowed him to explore a diverse range of subjects, documenting natural landscapes, religious practices, political events, and artistic expressions. His work reflects a deep connection to his heritage and the essence of Cuban culture.
