Welcome to our new script and screenplay writing circle!
Open to anyone writing scripts, screenplays, pitch decks etc who wants to be part of a supportive community for feedback, advice and general navigating the industry. This is a place to discuss ideas, ask for help and guidance, and share career wins and goals!
Each meet-up we will look at three samples of work from our members (first come first served for slots).
Format:
arrive - coffee, chat, meet, greet
20 mins share updates/wins/queries
30 mins feedback/workshop slot 1
10 mins break
30 mins feedback/workshop slot 2
30 mins feedback/workshop slot 3
LOCATION:
Most of our sessions take place at The French Market, with every third session in a different location - for Sept 14th we will move online, and for December 11th we will have a festive party!
TICKETS:
We are grateful to be supported by The French Market, who have kindly given us their welcoming space for our meets and help us avoid costs - we encourage everyone attending to consider purchasing something delicious while you're there!
Tickets are free, donations appreciated which go toward our other running costs. Spaces are limited so please reserve. If you can no longer make it please contact us so we can release the space to somebody else.
Workshopping slots are allocated in advance of the event (usually at the end of the previous event) - if you would like to workshop please drop us a message. There is no additional charge to workshop.
WORKSHOPPING:
Workshop slots are thirty minutes long. The workshop slot can be used in whatever way is most beneficial to you - reading through a script is most popular, but you could also bring a pitch deck, a synopsis, practise pitching a script to the group etc.
SPACE:
This will be an inclusive and intentional space. Open to all but particularly hoping to support PoC / LGBTQIA+ / Disabled friends, and generally anyone navigating an industry not inherently set up for them.
