The Cosmic Craft Constellation alights at the North Beach Social, emulating the galaxies above and turning the Bandshell into a magical snow globe. Afrobeta promises a special holiday concert, and fiber artist Karelle Levy (Krelwear), inspired by sacred geometry, will create a celestial site-specific pom pom sculpture to light up Bandshell. Video art by Mariana Mendoza will bring the fully immersive experience to life.Opening set features Miami-based songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist Vania Junco to kick off the night. She draws inspiration from folk, jazz, and baroque music to create songs that are as emotionally dense as they are harmonically complex, with live performances that are primarily concerned with beauty for the sake of it.
The North Beach Social is the free monthly musical meet up, presented by Rhythm Foundation. This edition is presented as part of Bandshell Laboratories, with support from the CreARTE grant from the Jorge M. Perez Family Foundation.
