NONPLUS has always been focused on the source, music that remains in conversation with the lineage of dance music. Frequently that means music that was created with the same tools and methods early pioneers of electronic music also utilized. While NONPLUS: “Dark City” features two live hardware acts in this tradition, as part of the larger picture NONPLUS wishes to continue tapping “the source” - ecstatic dance-floor communion - and turning it into creative energy. SWEATER ON POLO (NYC)
Sweater On Polo’s hardware live set captures the true spirit of 80's House. His machine wizardry recalls the past, with dubbed out and atmospheric house of New York mixed with the old school jack styles of Chicago. Seamlessly blending these approaches and evolving the sound into the modern day soundscape, Sweater On Polo's sound remains cosmic, futuristic, and psychedelic in a contemporary club context.
His 6 track EP “Go Wild Harlem Trax” (2023) is already considered a modern cult classic, while “Mechanical Confusion EP” (2025) was a rapidly sold out hit amongst underground house heads, even getting recognition from renowned techno artists such as Ben Sims. His most recent album release “Almighty Grand Essence” (2025) is potentially one of the most important house records of the decade, a 9 track offering giving proper reverence to the formative Chicago deep house sound.
