Nonfiction Book Group with Carlo
Discussing Red Rosa: A Graphic Biography of Rosa Luxemburg by Kate Evans
Led by Greenlight's former marketing coordinator Carlo, our nonfiction book group meets monthly to read and discuss non-fiction titles related to issues of politics, the natural world, and any other systems that connect us all.
For October, the group discusses Red Rosa by Kate Evans, a graphic novel of the dramatic life and death of German revolutionary Rosa Luxemburg. A giant of the political left, Rosa Luxemburg is one of the foremost minds in the canon of revolutionary socialist thought. In this beautifully drawn work of graphic biography, writer and artist Kate Evans has opened up her subject’s intellectual world to a new audience—from her many friendships to her sexual intimacies, and her love of science, nature and art—grounding Luxemburg’s ideas in the realities of an inspirational and deeply affecting life.
