nixi @ night A pole performance fundraiser celebrating queer movement & mutual care for Stonewall Community Foundation
About this Event

nixi @ night is a one-night-only, pop-up, conceptual “strip club” created to celebrate my birthday (of course with some additional flair and theatrics). Rooted in the framework of queer liberation through party, the event aims to highlight the strip club not as a symbol of toxicity, but as a space that can be reclaimed, expanded, and made more inclusive. 80% of ticket proceeds and donations for the event will go to the Stonewall Community Foundation (the remaining 20% will go towards the dancers performing night of).

Traditionally, strip clubs are framed as a man’s world. That assumption is a huge part of why they remain so taboo, and why sex work is still so often tied to narratives of harm, shame, and victimization. But there’s no inherent reason why the fulfillment or consumption of sexual desire, or adult entertainment in any form, must belong only to men, or be rooted in toxic masculinity. nixi @ night wants to challenge this narrative directly.

Rather than trying to sanitize or censor the strip club, the event wants to expand who the strip club is for: welcoming a broader, more diverse client base while validating sex workers as full agents, not symbols. The goal is to create a space where sexuality can be seen, performed, consumed, and respected without being automatically folded into shame, exploitation, or misogyny.

If strip clubs already fabricate fantasy and desire, then there is no reason those fantasies can’t be built on something more accepting. My fantasy is a strip club that makes room for: Healthy performance of sexuality; Freedom to be on display without being discredited; Validation instead of dehumanization.

Sex has many layers: intimate, political, playful, sacred, transactional, empowering. When we commodify it, why wouldn’t we also choose to honor those layers?

At its core, nixi @ night argues that strip clubs themselves are not inherently wrong or harmful. What becomes harmful are the narrow, gendered, and moralized frameworks we’ve built around them. By opening the space to more people (as workers, as viewers, as consumers) the event seeks to distance stripping from the idea that women and queer bodies exist primarily to serve, rather than to desire, choose, and participate.

And yes—because it’s my birthday—that’s exactly the plan.
