“Nitant” presents recent works from Navin Dhagat’s post 2017 practice, anchored in sustained awareness of lived experience and the act of witnessing oneself while creating.
Working consistently for over five decades, Dhagat has developed a personal visual language shaped by contemplative inquiry and deep engagement with human behaviour and nature.
His work has received State and National recognition and has been exhibited across India. Alongside his studio practice, he has contributed significantly to art education.
In these paintings, negative and positive space function as relational fields rather than background and subject. Each work asks for attentiveness rather than quick interpretation.
“Nitant” proposes slowness. It invites viewers to pause and allow the work to unfold.
