Nightingale Umarkoo Wayi: Information Session 1
Session 1: 6:00-7:00pm has now sold out.
Session 2: 7:15-8:15pm is now available below (Repeat session)
Nightingale Housing provides apartments that are socially, financially and environmentally sustainable. We believe that homes should be built for people, not profit.
Nightingale Umarkoo Wayi is our first project in Coburg. From the early stages of this project, Nightingale Housing engaged Wurundjeri Elders Aunty Julieanne Axford and Aunty Gail Smith. One outcome of this ongoing consultation process is that the building has been given a Woi Wurrung name, Umarkoo Wayi, meaning ‘All of us’.
This information session will be the first of two presentations. At this session, we will introduce the building, the site, the project team, what makes a Nightingale community, the ballot process, pricing and key dates. The evening’s session will conclude with a Q&A.
The subsequent information session will provide detailed information about the Nightingale approach to sustainability, the architectural proposal for Nightingale Umarkoo Wayi and detailed floor plans and pricing. Following that session, the ballot will open which includes a selection of homes and a ground floor commercial space.
Designed by Kennedy Nolan and built by Cobild, we are proud to see this community take shape. This project is under construction and due for completion towards the end of 2025.
This session is an in person event held at Balam Balam Place a new community centre designed by Kennedy Nolan. Balam Balam Place shares colour and material themes to Umarkoo Wayi.
The building is wheelchair accessible, if you require an Auslan interpreter or other accessibility requirements please email [email protected] when you buy a ticket.
100% of ticket profits will be donated to Wurundjeri Land Council.
