About this Event
Love short films, art displays, slow jazz, good food & looking to make friends in LA?
Come enjoy your Saturday evening with fellow Angelenos at E2Art Gallery where I will be hosting a *FREE* art show & screening of my dramatic narrative short film, Midnight Diaries. This exhibition will be a fun and safe space for my slow jazz lovers, lonely night owls and art fanatics who are looking for a community.
A little about myself and the film:
I am Keno S. Neal, an aspiring African-American writer/director based in South Central, Los Angeles formerly housed in foster care. I began writing stories and making videos at the age of 13, exploring sentimental themes and subjects about human relationships. I made Midnight Diaries (a no-budget D.I.Y production) as a form of reconciliation and self-therapy after having experienced years of lasting traumatic effects from orphanhood and loneliness. This project deals with the interpersonal grapplings of a young man who ventures between 24-hour cafés in the raw and gritty atmosphere of an after dark Los Angeles, touching on themes about identity, self-sabotage and loneliness. Inspired in large part by the revered 1976 classic, 'Taxi Driver', my film aims to encourage vulnerability and nuanced conversations around the critical social issue that is loneliness.
In addition to the screening, this exhibit will provide still images not included in the film, in-depth concept illustrations of its dramatic narrative and interactive activities of engagement for the community. There will be good music, good food and all around good vibes. Please bring a plus 1 (+) .. or plus 2! :)
