Celebrate the New Year with us at the Labyrinth!
We're thrilled to be welcoming three talented local musicians to ring in 2026! Drop by for a bit to walk the labyrinth, or stay for lunch and enjoy the whole day!
11am - 12pm ~ Our resident musician Laura Kern opens the event with a classic sound bath on her crystal bowls to ease us into the day...
12:15 - 1:15pm ~ The multi-talented composer, Celtic harpist and vocalist Reverend Clare Morgan treats us to one of their moving, ethereal sets...
1:30 - 2:30pm ~ So pleased to be introducing Grace Zakko for her first performance at the Labyrinth, blending a mix of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean folks and Western influences!
2:30 - 3pm ~ The Labyrinth will be open for quiet walks after the last set finishes.
Break bread with the labyrinth community - the kitchen opens for lunch around 1130, head downstairs for hot vegetarian soups & fresh buns!
A suggested $20 cash donation on-site helps support labyrinth programs and events like these throughout the year, and is greatly appreciated.
New to labyrinths? Labyrinth walking is an ancient meditation practice used by many different cultures for spiritual centering, contemplation, and prayer. For many, it is a way of centering themselves or of seeking insight during times of transition, like the start of a new year. The labyrinth is not a maze. There are no tricks to it and no dead ends. Walk at your own pace, releasing that which no longer serves you as you walk toward the centre and receiving whatever it is you need as you follow the same path out. Our labyrinth is a full 13-metre replica of the medieval labyrinth laid in the stone floor of the 13th-century Cathédrale de Notre-Dame de Chartres in France.
Sound healing is another ancient practice for meditation and self-care that harnesses the power of sound vibrations to promote healing and restoration. Research shows us that sound healing can slow down our brain waves and put our bodies in a very relaxed, dreamlike state. The vibrations of sound baths are thought to help you connect with your subconscious mind, allowing inner exploration and self-discovery.
Please note that shoes must be removed while in the labyrinth space. Chairs are provided for those who would like to sit. You are welcome to bring bottled water but no other food and beverages are permitted in the space.
