Traditionally, winter is a time for rest and retreat, a period of germination and preparation for springtime renewal. However, after the hustle and bustle of Christmas and New Year celebrations, many of us find that our nervous systems are a bit frazzled and in need of retuning. This voice and singing workshop will help you transition from an activated nervous system (fight-or-flight state) to a calmer ‘rest and digest’ mode. Since most of us spend too much time in a state of stress, it is crucial to learn how to activate a calmer, healing state of being. Singing and voice work have been proven to help regulate the nervous system, bringing many mental and physical health benefits.
Through meditative chants, vocal practices and harmony songs, this workshop will help you sink into a deeper, more mindful state and provide you with some simple tools for harnessing the voice to continue this practice into 2026. Join us to reflect on this transition into the New Year and set some powerful intentions through the voice.
Adults of all ages and abilities are welcome. You don’t need any singing or voice-work experience, and no one will be asked to sing solo. This is a relaxed, friendly and safe space, and participants frequently report leaving feeling recharged, grounded, and uplifted.
