About this Event
Join a open meeting about the launch of a borough wide community-owned solar energy group in Southwark with Repowering London. We have identified several sites in the borough for community owned solar installs and are looking for more sites.
The solar panels installed will be collectively owned and managed by residents like you through our crowdfunder launched later this year. They will also generate income for local investors (that’s you again!), raise money for local causes and reduce carbon emissions to fight climate change.
At this event, we'll start to shape how the group could work best for Southwark residents - after all, community energy is about putting energy back in the hands of the people! Here's your chance to be part of this revolution from below.
I n this workshop, you will:
- Find out more about community energy and how a borough wide community energy co-operative could work in Southwark
- Help us to create the identity, including the name and logo of our new co-op
- Define the group's priorities in how to make Southwark a healthier and fairer place
Anyone who lives, works or spends a lot of their time in Southwark is welcome to attend, including children (which will have the opportunity to take part in a fun drawing competition!). We know that people don't live their lives in a single borough so we're keen to welcome people from our neighbouring boroughs who are interested in getting involved.
Coffee, tea and snacks will be provided.
Any questions or concerns ahead of the event, please email Rachel at [email protected]
This is your opportunity to shape Southwark's action on climate change.
