Start your pottery journey at Creative Bloc with a wheel throwing taster session!
Try out the basic techniques that will allow you to create your first small pot on the potters wheel with guidance from an experienced tutor.
Suitable for complete beginners. Whether you're looking to test the water before enrolling in a full course or you're just looking for a fun weekend activity to enjoy with a friend, this is a great introduction to making ceramics.
We will start with a demonstration and then you will have the opportunity to practice with unlimited clay before choosing your favourite pot* at the end of the session for us to trim, glaze and fire for you. Collection is 3 weeks after the class.
Wheel throwing is messy work, please wear clothes you don't mind getting clay on (it washes out). Short sleeves or sleeves you can roll up are recommended and you may want to bring your own towel or apron.
*We recycle the remainder of the clay but if you wish to keep more than one pot there is an additional £10 fee per pot for glazing and firing.

The Venue: Creative Bloc Glasgow is an arts collective and creative studio in Glasgow North-West. 814 Garscube Road, G20 7ET.
Public transport:First busses 60, 60A, 61 - Bluebird X10, X10A and West Coast Motors 17 all stop on Maryhill Road just 2 minutes walk away.Kelvinbridge and St Georges Cross underground are approx 17mins walk.Entrance to the studio is via one small step at the front door on Garscube road and there is level access from the car park at the back.
