Step into a world of colour, card and creativity, in this kirigami and embossing workshopled by paper artist Shobhna Patel.
During this relaxed session, you will create a papercraft nature scene, featuring two hares
under an embossed moonlit sky. All displayed within a 16cm beautiful glass cloche.
Kirigami is a centuries old art form, where illustrations and designs are cut into either
paper or card to create uniquely stunning and detailed artwork with a pop-up 3D effect.
With Shobhna’s expert guidance, you’ll learn the basics of kirigami and embossing, how
to safely use a scalpel/craft knife to carefully cut around bespoke templates, learn
essential techniques to sculpt paper and cardstock into striking pop-up forms. No
previous experience of working with a scalpel/ craft knife is required, as Shobhna will
carefully guide you through each stage of the process.
All materials and equipment will be provided. Refreshments will be provided too. Please
bring with you a waterproof bag to take your creation home in.
By the end of the workshop you will be able to take home an ornate paper creation, ready
to display!
This workshop is led by experienced paper artist Shobhna Patel. Shobhna has
