The New Mexico BDR: + is a full-route, south-to-north adventure that showcases the wild diversity of the Land of Enchantment—from high desert basins and volcanic badlands to alpine forests and remote mountain passes. Our ride follows the core New Mexico Backcountry Discovery Route while emphasizing flow, scenery, and challenge, linking long stretches of dirt, forest roads, two-track, and rugged backcountry connectors. Expect big mileage days balanced with unforgettable landscapes: wide-open plains, dramatic mesas, historic mining areas, and high-elevation terrain where weather and light constantly change the mood. This is a true backcountry experience—all camping, long days in the saddle, and riding that rewards focus, confidence, and a sense of adventure.
