Head over to Working From_ at The Hoxton, Chicago, and be the first to hear fresh bits from some of Chicago’s best comedians. New Material Night will see the likes of Vik Pangya, Kathryn Gongaware, Kieron Harrell, Ben Noble, and Chelsea Hood. They'll tap our senses of humor as their (willing and laughing) guinea pigs.
The best midweek, post-work pick-me-up with one free bev on us (followed by a cash bar).
The Comedians
Vik Pandya
Vik Pandya is a nationally touring stand up comic based in Chicago. Known for his sharp self-deprecation, observational humor on dating, & hilarious crowd work, his comedy album 'Friends With 401(k) Benefits' debuted #1 on iTunes / Top 10 on the Billboard Charts. Vik’s Dry Bar Comedy special ‘No Refunds’ hit Top 10 on the platform, and his Only Fans TV special is now streaming. Vik has opened for Trevor Wallace, Roy Wood Jr., & Michelle Wolf and performs regularly at Zanies Comedy Club, The Laugh Factory, & The Improv in Chicago. He's been featured in 21 comedy festivals across the country including: San Francisco’s Sketchfest, NBC's Breakout Fest, & the SLO Comedy Fest. He's also a regular opener for international acts like Vir Das, Zakir Khan & Atul Khatri. Vik's comedy has appeared in Vulture, the Chicago Sun Times, & the Chicago Tribune. Kathryn Gongaware
Kathryn Gongaware is a comedian, writer, actress, and relative hypocrite. She's known for her unique stories, distinct race takes, and an unfortunate amount of self-awareness, most (all) of which stem from teaching yoga in Cook County J*il. Kathryn has opened for Jourdain Fisher, Mo Amer, Irene Tu, and Cipha Sounds, while writing scripts, filming shorts, and losing innumerous games of pool. She’s headlined The Laugh Factory, featured at Zanies, and has performed at clubs all over the country including The Comedy Cellar and The Comedy Store. She is also President of Pr*son Yoga Chicago, and the creator and co-host of Beyond Bars, a podcast highlighting people impacted by the criminal “justice” system.
Kieron Harrell
Kieron Harrell is a Chicago comedian who was born and raised in Ohio, but like anyone trying to succeed in life, he first had to leave Ohio. Known for his infectious high energy, paired with his deeply personal jokes, Kieron has been captivating audiences across the country! He shares stories that range from what it’s like to grow up as the least favorite child, his ex trying to sue him, raising foster children, and how his family made him the hot mess he is.
Kieron recently recorded a mini special for OFTV at the historic Den Theater in Chicago. He’s also a paid regular at The Laugh Factory Chicago. Kieron has performed at legendary venues such as The Comedy Store, Comedy on State, The Bend Theater, The Geyer Theater, The Second City, and has headlined Don’t Tell Comedy shows all across America. His openness on stage has gained him millions of views across his social media platforms, and his quick wit during his spouts of intricate crowd work makes every seat in the house, the best seat!
Ben Noble
Ben is not a legally blind comedian, he’s a comedian that happens to be legally blind. Known for his charm and dope microphone skills, Ben spins tales that’ll have you rolling on the floor laughing! A Chicago native, Ben has been featured on many television networks including NBC, FOX32, HBO, and Comedy Central. He has performed at comedy clubs across the country including Zanies, Comedy on Madison and The Comedy Store, just to name a few. Ben has even worked with big name comedians such as Lil Rel, Roy Wood Jr, and Chris Redd. He was a finalist in NBC’s BreakOut Fest, and headlined a comedy tour in Edmonton, Canada.Also an edutainer, Ben’s voice is being heard! He has spoken at many corporate events such as BMO Harris, Uber, and Chicago Bears. He also had the privilege to headlined TedxChicago. Ben has a passion to bring laughter with a sense of resilience to those in need and he won’t ever stop sharing his story! Ben’s unique “point of view” on his experiences and observations makes for some hysterical stories that even you wouldn’t see coming!
Chelsea Hood
Chelsea Hood is a stand up comedian living in Chicago, IL by way of the comedy scenes in both Dallas, TX and Brooklyn, NY. You may have seen her on WGN, The CW Network's Eye Opener, or CW33's Nightcap. She was also featured on Stand Up Records' "Texas Mess" album recorded at SXSW. Chelsea's style of humor is observational, feminist, and pleasantly self-deprecating. Some of the comics she has been delighted to open for include; Marc Maron, Jay Mohr, Donnell Rawlings, Maria Bamford, Ralphie May, Richard Lewis, Pauly Shore, JB Smoove, Paul Rodriguez, Tom Green, Michael Winslow, Bobby Lee, and many more.She was most frequently featured performer at Limestone Comedy Festival, one of eight chose as the Best of the Midwest at Gilda’s LaughFest and a Comic to Watch at RIOT LA. Some of the clubs and venues she's had the privilege of performing at include The Comedy Store, Caroline's on Broadway, The House of Blues, The Improv, Zanie’s, Thalia Hall Chicago, Upright Citizen's Brigade NY, the Lincoln Lodge (Chicago), a long list of prestigious bar basements across this country. Once on the bed of a tractor trailer, in a field in Texas, in the middle of an ATV park.
