The New Cumberland Earth & Arts Festival Sunday, April 19 | 10am–4pm | New Cumberland Public Library Free | Rain or Shine
An arty party for the planet. Live music, live raptors, live painting — and a whole lot in between.
The Earth & Arts Festival is a day of music, nature, art, and community at the New Cumberland Public Library. Spend an afternoon exploring hands-on workshops, learning from local environmental advocates, catching live performances, and meeting your neighbors.
On the main stage: Soth Peppy (synth soundscapes), Nera (indie folk), and The Woodshines (Lancaster folkways), plus live creature features with West Shore Wildlife Center and The Raptory — yes, you can meet the raptors.
In the backyard demo garden: A neighborhood bird walk, composting for beginners, backyard chicken basics, gardening with native plants, seed saving, a lawn-to-life conversion demo, and an edible and herbal weeds plant walk.
Inside the library: A dam removal puppet show from American Rivers, found footage of New Cumberland in 1976 (celebrating the library's 50th anniversary), and crafts for kids and teens.
Around the grounds: Cyanotype sun prints, a fish casting practice range from PA Fish & Boat Commission, alpacas from Angie's Alpaca Paradise, plein air painters, tarot readings, a hands-on makerspace, and more.
Food trucks: Get Smok'd, Walk-O Taco, Traveling J's, Extra Rice, Carousel Creperie, Plants in the Cloud, Honey Bear, Potato Coop, Crema Coffee Truck, and the Friends of the Library hot dog stand. PA American Water will be on-site with a reusable water bottle fill station.
Browse goods from 17 local artists and merchants, and connect with nearly 30 environmental and community organizations.
Parking is available at the library, Hillside Elementary, and on surrounding streets. Better yet — walk or bike if you can.
