Texas Center for the Missing, Houston Police Department Forensic Artists, and Sabine Street Studios, present Never Forgotten, a powerful new exhibit featuring age-progression artwork of missing persons. This initiative is a heartfelt effort to shine a light on each individual case and continue raising awareness in our community in an effort to #BringThemHome. The exhibit features the work of three local forensic artists: Thurston Johnson, Bryan Bradley, and Kristen Aloysius, who are all dedicated to reuniting families through their artistic endeavors.
EVENTS:
May 21st, 6 - 8 pm | Reception for the artists and the public.
June 5th, 6 - 8 pm | Sabine Street Studios will also host a special media day for the local media and families to bring special attention to the unresolved cases.
June 13th, 1 - 3 pm | Houston Police Forensic Artist, Sr. Police Officer Thurston Johnson will host a workshop on forensic drawing and drawing portraits based on memories. This event will take place during Second Saturday, June 13, and is free and open to the public

Houston Police Forensic Artist, Sr. Police Officer Thurston Johnson has been in Law Enforcement for twenty five years, the last twenty four at The Houston Police Department (HPD). In 2016 he trained under world-renowned forensic artist for HPD, Lois Gibson. Officer Johnson received additional training at the International Association of Identification (IAI) conference from fellow forensic artists from around the world, from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), and Texas State University Forensic Anthropology Center under forensic artist instructor Karen Taylor.
When Lois Gibson retired from HPD in 2022, Johnson was one of the two part-time forensic artist that took over the position in a full-time capacity. He specializes in "age-progression", which is used to assist law enforcement agencies in missing persons cases. Officer Johnson stated, “It an honor to use my artistic skill in an effort to help families and assisting them with trying to get there missing loved one home.” Officer Johnson also has a bachelor’s degree in history and Humanities form Barat College Depaul University in Chicago Illinois.
Houston Police Forensic Artist, Bryan Bradley has been a Forensic Artist with the Houston Police Department since 2019. He has been a protégée of world-famous Forensic Artist Lois Gibson since 2007 and throughout 17-year career with HPD. Bryan has followed in Mrs. Gibson’s footsteps as a Forensic Artist in assisting various law enforcement agencies worldwide from everything including witness memory sketches, age progressions, skull reconstructions, postmortems, and even courtroom sketches for high profile trials as seen on local Houston news stations, KPRC and KTRK as well as the A&E channel.
Houston Police Forensic Artist, Police Officer Kristen N. Aloysius is a lifelong artist, specializing in portraits. After completing forensic art training under Lois Gibson in 2015, and graduating from the Houston Police Department Academy in 2018, she eventually transferred to the Homicide Division as an
investigator in 2021, and is also a member of the Houston Police Department’s Forensic Art Unit, which was established by Lois Gibson prior to her retirement. Aloysius is also an instructor, and a graduate of the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Program and earned my bachelor’s degree in Workplace Leadership, graduating summa cum laude from Tiffin University. She writes: "This work is deeply meaningful to me, as it provides renewed hope to families who are struggling to cope with unanswered questions. These sketches provide a visual connection to loved ones that they continue to search for."
