About this Event
After a long winter, we begin to see a little more light in the sky and warmth in the air. For some there is a desire to reset the nervous system to prepare for the season change. Sound baths have the ability to work with our nervous system by taking us from the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) to the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest). By using certain tones and frequencies that interact with the brain, body and vagus nerve, one can achieve a lowered stress state and heart regulation.
Gongs, Himalayan singing bowls, Crystal singing bowls, shamanic drums, healing and koshi chimes and a rain stick will be used to craft sequences focused on lowering cortisol and bringing the body into a deeper state of relaxation. Profound experiences can happen when you are a part of a sonic experience. Brainwave entrainment can lower the brainwaves into altered/deep sleep states, allowing the nervous system to reset and restore balance in the body and mind.
Please bring a yoga mat, pillow, blanket and eye cover. Some props are available at the studio. The studio is located upstairs. Doors open at 5:40 and it is important to arrive early as doors lock at 6:05. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, there are sliding scale spots available. Epilepsy is a major contraindication to sound healing and is not safe to participate.
